Monday, December 2 – The same Jesus for us all?

As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.            –Galatians 3:27-28 (NRSV)
Through baptism we all are ‘clothed’ with Christ.  Old divisions that put one group above or better than another are done away with.  That was Paul’s message to the church in Galatia...and to the Church in any land or time.
As human beings we’ve had debates about the relative worth of people who are different than us.  In our brokenness we create castes, categories and values that relate to birth, skin color, size, physical or mental prowess, disability, gender, sexual orientation, economic status... and on and on...
But in Christ...even though we are gifted differently...we are of equal value to God...and capable of being used by God in any way God sees fit.  What way does God want to use you?
